A Sisterhood of Traveling Hearts.

Green Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket, Thailand

The bustling streets of Phuket, the serene beauty of ancient temples, and the warmth of the Thai people—Thailand holds a unique charm that captivates not only tourists but a special group of women I'm proud to call friends. We aren't your typical visitors; we're a band of sisters united by a common mission: to support the dedicated global women workers (missionaries) serving worldwide. Our hearts are for those who serve others.

This remarkable group, affectionately known in my heart as the "Sisterhood of Traveling Hearts," wasn't your typical missionary team. Comprised of women from all walks of life - retired teachers, nurses, moms, therapists, hairstylists, and business owners – we brought a wealth of experience and a shared passion for service. Our mission wasn't preaching or proselytizing but providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the 94 global workers who attended the Thrive Retreat.

Our days were filled with a kaleidoscope of activities. Helping with details of a 3-day retreat and providing self-care appointments to the global women (massages, haircuts, pedicures, counseling, mentoring, spiritual direction, prayer sessions, and more), The Sisterhood became an invaluable resource for the women.

However, the true impact wasn't measured in the tasks completed. It was in the quiet moments—sharing a cup of coffee with a sister, reflecting on our full days, celebrating the deep work of God in our lives, or simply offering a shoulder to cry on. Simple and profound!

Thailand and the global workers stole a piece of our hearts. The unwavering dedication of the missionaries we supported left an indelible mark. We left with more than souvenirs and sunburns. We left with a deeper understanding of the needs of global workers, a renewed appreciation for the power of community, and a bond of sisterhood forged in the heart of Southeast Asia.

The Sisterhood of Traveling Hearts may have returned home, but the impact continues. Our hearts are forever affected. We are spreading a message of hope, love, support, and the simple act of being there for one another. And that, in itself, is a beautiful mission.

Our hearts are forever affected.
