One Intentional Day
Laura Longville
It’s that time of year again. I Googled “New Years Resolutions” and the following articles were at the top of the search. Each article offered something helpful, but I’m not sure I’d remember any of the articles or ideas 3 months from now. But maybe something will help you?
29 New Years Resolution ideas…….OMG who’s got time for 29 of them? Although, there are some really good suggestions!
Ditch the New Years Resolution for monthly goals. You don’t have to do all 12, maybe pick just one idea and give it a try.
Make Your New Year Resolutions His Resolution It really is a good idea to ask God what he would like 2022 to look like for you.
Long for more than New Years Resolutions?
Instead of making New Years Resolutions this new year, what would happen if each of us focused on being intentional every day? How would your life (and our world) look if you made a point to look to God, love others well, and care for yourself?
A new year is upon us with an invitation from Jesus. In Matthew 11:30 (The Message) Jesus says, "Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
To live freely and lightly is an encouragement that draws us to a fresh start. What a promise and possibly a new way to start the year. I’m taking the challenge to focus on one practice a month. Each practice can help us stay purposeful and motivated. Won’t you give it a try? We can help one another stay on track.
Each practice has the possibility of transforming us. It is simple, yet profound. These practices of grace, AKA-spiritual disciplines are intentional ways we create space for God in our lives. As we keep company with Him we become more joyful, aware of our desires, and longing for more of God in our lives.
The Bible clearly guides us in these practices of grace (spiritual disciplines) so we can begin to notice God and respond to his word in us. I will post a spiritual practice you can intentionally practice. My hope is that this time next year, you will have 6 core spiritual practices that you’ve incorporated into your life.
The practices don’t make the difference in your life, God does. If you make space for God in your life, He will help you live freely and lightly. As we partner with Him in your daily practice, routine, exercise, ritual, or discipline we co-create a meaningful life.
I look forward to our spiritual journey together in 2022.
